Brady charging up to $2,000 per autograph at upcoming signing event

Robert Deutsch / USA TODAY Sports

You can't expect one of the best quarterbacks ever, who also happens to earn the 12th-highest average salary for his position, to not make a little extra dough on the side.

After capturing his fifth Super Bowl title, Tom Brady is capitalizing on his sky high popularity by charging big bucks for his autograph at an upcoming signing session with Tristar Memorabilia. To get the New England Patriots quarterback's John Hancock on a piece of merchandise, it's going cost between $500 and $2,000.

Per Tristar Production's website:

  • Licensed Trading Cards - $499
  • Flat Item up to and including 11x14 photos - $799
  • Flat Item larger than 11x14 photo, mini helmet, or football - $819
  • Full size helmet, or NFL licensed jersey - $849
  • Reproduced artwork, canvas, or multi-signed item with 5 or more signatures - $1,399
  • Original artwork, game used, or any other item not listed - $1,999

There are also several other surcharges if you wish Brady to sign more than his name or have your item customized further.

It will be another $299 to add an inscription reading "4x SB MVP", "SB 51 MVP", "SB 49 MVP", "SB 38 MVP", "SB 36 MVP", or "16-0 '07". And $399 to add either "2x NFL MVP", "5x SB Champ", "SB 51 Champs", "07 NFL MVP", or "10 NFL MVP".

If you want Brady to write a personalized message, he will do so for another $499 as long as it is under 20 characters.

Fans are allowed one inscription per item and cannot request Brady to write roman numerals. Also, no one gets to meet Brady; all transactions will be done by mail.

So maybe think twice the next time you're about to reference how generous Brady is for taking a pay cut as a sacrifice to his team. He's doing just fine.
