Landry edges Beckham in Best Hands competition at Pro Bowl

The first event in this year's Pro Bowl skills competition came down to a pair of wideouts that may just be the NFL's closest friends.

Overcoming a controversial call from an official early in his run, Miami Dolphins wideout Jarvis Landry finished his pass-catching gauntlet in a time just 0.2 seconds better than New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to win the Best Hands event.

The receiver event required that participants reel in passes at a number of different stations, switching things up with two-hand grabs, one-handers, keeping their feet on a pretend sideline, and pulling one down from over the shoulders.

Beckham was standing by when Landry bested his time, tackling his former LSU teammate to the ground as the AFC took a 1-0 lead in the new-look skills showcase.

Catching passes from Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, other participants included Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans and Indianapolis Colts wideout T.Y. Hilton.
