Sherman: 'Foolishness' to consider punishing Seahawks for injury report

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is unsurprisingly opposed to talk the NFL might dock his team a draft pick for not disclosing Sherman's knee injury last season.

Head coach Pete Carroll revealed after the season that Sherman played through a significant MCL injury. One problem: the injury never appeared on the Seahawks' weekly injury report.

Sherman told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that it's "foolishness" for the NFL to consider taking a draft pick away from the Seahawks as punishment for the violation.

While he did not miss a game, he was absent from some practices for what the Seahawks called non-injury reasons.

Sherman did admit to Paolantonio that he was "banged up" late in the season, so whether he agrees with the NFL or not, it's possible his team will face consequences for not revealing the true extent of the injury.
