Hospitalized baby calms down when shown Cowboys games

Love for Lola/Facebook

Lola Catron has spent the majority of her three months on earth in the hospital due to a congenital heart defect, but the Dallas Cowboys have made things somewhat easier on her parents during this difficult time.

While staying at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, Laura and Bryan Catron discovered that Cowboys games have an oddly calming effect on the newborn. When it isn't game day, Laura will search for old Cowboys games on YouTube and play her those.

"That is what calms her down is football," Laura told WFAA-TV's Sarah Hoye.

Lola has undergone surgery twice since she was born Oct. 3, and will need another surgery by her third birthday. Laura has been documenting her daughter's journey on Facebook as a way to cope and educate others.

"Yes, it's a cute story, my daughter loves the Cowboys, but I want them to know why she’s crying," Laura said. "I want them to know she's crying because she has a headache from her second open heart surgery; I want them to know the CHD is very real."
