Get ready to meet the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders officially submitted the paperwork to relocate the franchise from Oakland to Las Vegas, Clark County Commission chair Steve Sisolak announced Thursday, which the NFL later confirmed in a statement.

The move still requires approval from at least 24 of the league's owners, with the vote expected to take place at a meeting in March.

There haven't yet been any concrete reports about the vote's predicted result, but sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that support from owners is "gathering momentum," though none would estimate a vote count.

The Raiders have been unable to come to an agreement with the city of Oakland about funding for a new stadium, making a separation appear inevitable.

Meanwhile, Vegas approved $750 million in taxpayer money for a stadium in October, prompting Raiders owner Mark Davis to describe the city as his team's new home.

Along with the public financing, Davis has pledged $500 million toward the new $1.9-billion stadium project.

The stadium won't be completed until 2020, so even if the Raiders' move is rubber-stamped this offseason, the team will remain in Oakland for the next two seasons.
