The Minnesota Vikings will name Pat Shurmur their permanent offensive coordinator, removing the interim tag, a source told ESPN's Ben Goessling.

Shurmur, who previously served as the team's tight ends coach, took over as offensive coordinator when Norv Turner resigned in November.

The 51-year-old was hired by the Vikings in January 2016. Previously, Shurmur served as the Eagles' offensive coordinator and briefly worked as the team's interim head coach.

Shurmur was also the Cleveland Browns' head coach from 2011-12, posting a 9-23 cumulative record before being fired.
