A much-improved defense has been the story for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season, and that remains the case with the club's playoffs hopes dwindling in Week 17.

After a first half in which the offense was held out of the end zone, Brent Grimes was the one to come through with a game-changing play to turn the tide Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

On just the second play of the third quarter, Grimes jumped in front of a Cam Newton pass and managed to keep his balance along the sideline to get in the end zone and give Tampa Bay a 10-7 lead.
