Jones: Cowboys won't rest starters despite clinching playoff spot

The Dallas Cowboys are the only team in the NFL that's clinched a playoff berth so far, and they're not planning to take their foot off the throttle.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team will be cautious with injured players, but isn't considering resting any of its stars just yet.

"I see us more business as usual," Jones said on Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan, according to Patrik Walker of 247Sports.com. "What it does allow you to do is when you've got guys on the fence with injury to not push them.

"You don't want to take the edge off."

The 11-1 Cowboys can seal the NFC East title with a win over New York Giants on Sunday night, as well as all but lock up the NFC's No.1 seed.

After that, it's possible they'll begin to ease the workloads of players like running back Ezekiel Elliott and Dez Bryant.

The Cowboys will likely be forced into an awkward scenario in which Tony Romo, the team's unquestioned starter for the last decade, will be asked to perform mop-up duty in relief of Dak Prescott during any future blowout wins.
