Panthers' Cam Newton: Struggles after benching versus Seahawks

Newton completed just 14 of 32 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Seahawks. He also gained 12 yards on three carries in the 40-7 loss.

Analysis:

Newton was benched for the first play of the game for disciplinary reason and could never get in a rhythm against the ferocious Seattle defense and finished with an undesirable 44 percent completion rate. He has seen a noticeable downturn in production over the last three games, averaging just 206.6 passing yards and 10.3 rushing yards per game during that time. Newton will look to get back on track next week as Carolina plays host to the Chargers.
