Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck took part in his first practice since missing the team's last game Thursday against the Pittsburgh Steelers after sustaining a concussion in Week 11 against the Tennessee Titans.

"Feel great. One-hundred percent, ready to go," Luck said after the Monday morning practice session.

For the fifth-year pro, it was the first concussion he has suffered in his career. That alone was cause for pause for the star quarterback.

"You have to be prudent with your brain," Luck said, according to Mike Wells of ESPN. "Cautious maybe is the wrong word, but I think you have to do things by the book, and I do believe I have and our trainers and doctors have done a great job of informing me and sort of holding my hand per se along this trip."

Though he has returned to practice, Luck has yet to clear concussion protocol. He said he believes the next step in that process is for him to go through a contact practice and then see an independent neurologist.

Luck and the Colts expect he will be fit to play in the team's Monday night game against the New York Jets.
