Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Efficient and effective early in Week 12 victory

Winston completed 21 of 28 passes for 220 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 14-5 win over the Seahawks. He also gained 12 yards on five rushes.

Analysis:

Although he effectively steered the ship through all four quarters against one of the NFL's elite defenses, Winston set the tone for the upset victory with his play in the first quarter. The second-year gunslinger found favorite target Mike Evans for touchdowns of three and 23 yards, giving the Bucs a 14-0 lead they'd never relinquish. With an inspired defense supporting him by applying relentless pressure on the Seattle offense throughout the afternoon, Winston was able to essentially play the role of game manager over the final three quarters, although his fast start enabled him to record his fifth multi-touchdown game in the last six contests. He also continued his effective work outside the pocket, as he was 7-for-8 with a touchdown under those circumstances Sunday. With Tampa now 6-5 and in the thick of the playoff hunt, Winston will look to take his positive mojo out west for a Week 13 showdown with the Chargers in San Diego.
