Where could Romo go next?

In an emotional press conference Tuesday, 36-year-old Tony Romo conceded the starting quarterback position to rookie Dak Prescott.

However, he made it very clear he has no intention of retiring any time soon. With Prescott as the Cowboys' starter, Romo will likely be moving on after the season, but where to?

Houston Texans

No need to go too far. The Texans have a Super Bowl-ready roster minus the quarterback.

It must be pretty clear to Bill O'Brien by now that Brock Osweiler isn't the guy to lead his team to the promised land, but an experienced veteran like Romo on a short-term contract may be the answer. Throwing to DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, and Braxton Miller behind an above-average offensive line could be Romo's chance to grab the spotlight one more time.

New York Jets

This would be a media circus, but an aging Romo is a major upgrade over what the Jets currently have.

The time is ticking away for Brandon Marshall and Matt Forte's championship hopes, and they want some help. Neither Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg is ready to take the starting job. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith are out the door. They're going to need someone, and Romo will be their best option.

Denver Broncos

The last time a top-end quarterback was looking for a championship contender to join at the end of his career, Peyton Manning went to Denver.

The Broncos still have a championship-level roster, and Paxton Lynch doesn't look ready to take over. As a Texas native, Lynch would likely take to Romo as a mentor and learn from the former Cowboy while he tries to finally capture the Lombardi Trophy.

Chicago Bears

After playing his college ball in Illinois, a return to the Midwest would be a great way to top off Romo's career.

The Bears may not be as championship-ready as the Broncos or Texans, but it's tough to judge what Chicago really has with Jay Cutler aimlessly leading them up and down the field. The team has been lacking leadership - especially at the quarterback position - for years, which is Romo's specialty.

Kansas City Chiefs

Depending on how high the Chiefs are on Alex Smith, they may feel like a quarterback could be a priority.

Kansas City's offense is the opposite of explosive at the moment, but they've got the pieces for Romo to shed the "boring" tag. Jeremy Maclin and Tyreek Hill can take the top off any defense, while Travis Kelce could be his new Jason Witten.
