Rams' Goff will remain No. 2 QB in Week 11

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

The first overall pick in 2016 will continue to be the second choice at quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams.

Head coach Jeff Fisher said Monday night that rookie quarterback Jared Goff will remain the backup to Case Keenum when the Rams host the Miami Dolphins in Week 11, according to Lindsay Jones of USA Today.

Reports had surfaced that the Rams would turn to their No.1 pick for Sunday's game, but Fisher has thrown cold water on those rumors. He has maintained that Keenum is not to blame for the Rams' 4-5 record or 31st-ranked offense.

Rookie passers such as Dak Prescott, Carson Wentz, and Cody Kessler have been given significant playing time this season and are making their marks on their respective teams. Goff, however, will have to wait for his chance to prove why he was the first player off the board in April.
