Cardinals' Carson Palmer: Rest day Wednesday

Palmer received a rest day from Wednesday's practice, Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:

When he was seen wearing a hat rather than a helmet in the part of practice open to the media, there was worry that Palmer was tending to a previously unknown ailment. Instead, he's getting a scheduled day off from a session in which he typically doesn't do much, according to head coach Bruce Arians. After his removal from the injury report in the coming days, Palmer will have a juicy matchup on tap Sunday against a 49ers defense that has conceded multiple passing touchdowns to quarterbacks in seven straight games.
