Tomlin: Steelers need receivers other than Brown to step up

Antonio Brown can't do it all by himself.

Coming off a highly disappointing offensive performance in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is calling upon his other receivers to make their share of plays.

"It's important we get consistent contributions from guys not named Antonio Brown," Tomlin said Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala.

Brown remains firmly entrenched in the conversation among the NFL's elite receivers. His 55 catches for 677 yards and six touchdowns once again have him on pace for another strong year.

With the lack of a consistent threat elsewhere in the Pittsburgh passing game, however, it's fair to conclude that opposing defenses are limiting his production more than they otherwise could.

Ben Roethlisberger returning to form after dealing with a knee injury would help matters, but at least one of the several young wideouts will need a minor breakout sooner rather than later.

An injury to Darrius Heyward-Bey leaves Markus Wheaton, Sammie Coates, and Eli Rogers as the trio of pass-catchers that will be given a chance to take pressure off Brown this week against the Dallas Cowboys.
