Bryant at practice to open week, Romo still sidelined

At least one of the Dallas Cowboys' injured stars appears on the verge of being cleared for game action.

Dez Bryant was taking part in all drills during the open portion of Monday's practice, the first team session following last week's bye, via Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News.

Quarterback Tony Romo, meanwhile, remained sidelined as he continues to recover from a back injury suffered in the preseason.

Bryant was a limited participant for three consecutive practices leading up to Week 6, but the Cowboys elected to give him some additional rest heading into the bye. Barring a setback, the two-time Pro Bowler should be on track to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

While the Week 8 divisional showdown was always thought to be the target date for Romo's return, the veteran signal-caller is almost certainly at least another week away.

He'll presumably require a number of practices before being able to suit up on game day, and only then will the Cowboys officially have to make a decision on whether they'll stick with rookie sensation Dak Prescott.
