Bills' Shaq Lawson: Ready to get pro career going

Lawson participated in practice Wednesday for the first time since having shoulder surgery in May, BuffaloBills.com reports. Said the rookie, "I've been involved with the defense from day one since I got hurt," said Lawson who has attended all the team and positional meetings. "Jerry (Hughes) and Kyle Williams have been helping me through the process since I had surgery. So when I came out here today I felt like I was picking things up fast. I knew what to do and the installs that we had today. So those older guys were helping me."

Analysis:

Lawson remains on the Reserve/PUP list, though it wouldn't be a surprise if he sees his first NFL action this week in Miami. If that happens, the team insists Lawson won't be thrown into a starter's role right away, which seems to make sense given the out-of-this-world play by journeyman Lorenzo Alexander thus far.
