Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger: 2-3 week recovery period is best-case scenario

While acknowledging that Roethlisberger -- who had surgery Monday to repair a torn meniscus -- could miss up to six weeks, Steelers president Art Rooney II noted Wednesday that the "best case" for the QB's return to action is two-to-three weeks, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. "I think that two-to-three is what you can characterize as best-case, but that's what we're hoping for," Rooney relayed to NFL Network on Wednesday. "Two-to-six is probably a fair range that somebody can put on it."

Analysis:

Roethlisberger has already been ruled out this week and the Steelers are on bye in Week 8, which takes care of the first two weeks of his recovery. Beyond that, we'll consider the veteran QB week-to-week, with Landry Jones slated to start in his place in the meantime
