Irsay gives Pagano, Grigson vote of confidence

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is throwing his public support behind general manager Ryan Grigson and head coach Chuck Pagano.

The duo, who were both signed to contracts through 2019 despite missing the playoffs at 8-8 in 2015, has come under fire as the Colts are off to a disappointing 2-4 start.

Irsay said he has "full confidence" in the leadership and maintains the decision to stick with the status quo was well thought out and long term.

Calls for a change at the top have intensified since the Colts blew a 14-point lead with under three minutes remaining in Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. Irsay admitted the loss was "gut wrenching."

The regression of quarterback Andrew Luck has also caused concerns as the franchise player has been mostly average since signing his record-breaking contract extension.

Despite Irsay's claims otherwise, it's likely at least Pagano will be on the firing line if the struggles continue.
