Colts' Andrew Luck: Makes up for poor passing day with scrambles

Luck completed 21 of 32 passes for 252 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to Houston, adding seven carries for 53 yards and another score.

Analysis:

Luck more than made up for a mediocre passing line with a couple of big scrambles, taking whatever he could get against a Houston defense that entered Week 6 ranked No. 4 in opponents' completion percentage (56.9), No. 9 in yards per pass attempt (6.8) and No. 8 in sacks (13). The rushing production unsurprisingly came from scrambles on designed pass plays, highlighted by a 24-yard gain and a 14-yard touchdown. Luck was once again under a ton of pressure, with his three sacks seemingly coming at the worst times possible. He also lost TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) for the night in the first quarter, and then had just two healthy wide receivers by the end of the game. While his shaky supporting cast seems to be an ever-growing issue, Luck has nonetheless managed 300-plus passing yards and/or multiple touchdowns in five of six games. Next up is a Week 7 road matchup with Tennessee.
