Patriots' Dion Lewis: Could resume practicing as soon as next week

Lewis (knee) -- who is on the Patriots' PUP list -- is eligible to return to practice this coming week, with ESPN's Mike Reiss noting that "it's possible" that the running back could do so.

Analysis:

Per the report, Lewis has made progress in his recovery from a second procedure on his left knee, but Reiss suggests that the "likelihood is that coach Bill Belichick is going to be cautious" with the running back, "so it would be no surprise if Lewis isn't playing in a game until after" the Patriots' Week 9 bye. Forward thinking owners with bench flexibility might want to look into scooping Lewis up if he is available, but at this stage, his return to fantasy lineup viability does not appear imminent.
