Carson Palmer appears on track to make his return to the field after missing just one game.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Monday that he expects the veteran quarterback to pass through the NFL's concussion protocol Tuesday morning.

"He looks great," Arians said, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.

The Cardinals were able to come away with an impressive 33-21 win over the San Francisco 49ers with Drew Stanton under center Thursday night, halting their two-game losing skid while moving to 2-3 on the year.

While Palmer's play has fallen well short of expectations to this point in the season, his quick return would be a significant development for the offense's chances of finding its rhythm.

The 36-year-old will be looking to recapture the level of play that saw him rack up 4,671 yards and 35 touchdowns at the helm of a high-powered passing game last season.
