Dolphins' Jay Ajayi: Quiet night in Week 4 loss

Ajayi totaled 33 yards on six carries and secured both of his targets for 13 yards in Thursday's 22-7 loss to the Bengals.

Analysis:

The second-year back led a paltry running attack and did manage 5.5 yards per tote, but the Dolphins' offense as a whole was largely bogged down after an early 74-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill to Kenny Stills. Ajayi was second in carries to Kenyan Drake in last week's overtime victory over the Browns, but outpaced him by four totes in Thursday's contest. However, neither back appears to be the answer to providing head coach Adam Gase's offense a semblance of balance, leaving the Dolphins hoping for an Arian Foster (groin) recovery in time for the Week 5 tilt against the Titans in 10 days.
