Texans' J.J. Watt: Could face extended absence with back injury

Watt aggravated a back injury and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.

Analysis:

Watt battled through the injury over the first three weeks of the season, notching just eight tackles and 1.5 sacks over that span. Rapoport indicated the injury could potentially even cost him the rest of the season, so it's clearly believed to be a serious issue. Devon Still and Joel Heath are candidates to see an increased role in Watt's place.
