Vikings' Adrian Peterson: Could miss multiple games

Peterson is reportedly planning to undergo surgery Thursday morning to repair his torn right meniscus, ESPN.com reports. He has a "bucket handle tear" of the meniscus, which typically has a recovery time of three to four months, the report adds.

Analysis:

Thus far, the Vikings have yet to outline a timetable for Peterson's return to action, but per the report, the running back is expected to miss "multiple games." We'll await further details, especially with regard to mapping out a time-frame for his post-surgery recovery, but as long as Peterson is sidelined, Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata are in line to head the Minnesota backfield.
