Buccaneers' Mike Evans: Won't necessarily be shadowed by Peterson

Cardinals defensive coordinator James Bettcher said top cornerback Patrick Peterson won't shadow Evans for all of Sunday's game, the Cardinals' official website reports.

Analysis:

While the comment may initially sound like good news for Evans' owners, Bettcher does seem to be acknowledging that Peterson will follow the 23-year-old wideout for at least some of Sunday's game. Ultimately, it's unwise to put much faith in pregame comments of this sort, but in any case, Evans is a weekly must-start in nearly any format, regardless of matchup. Peterson's actual role won't be clear until Sunday's game is well under way.
