Bengals' Tyler Eifert: Making progress, but won't play this week

Eifert, who won't play Sunday against the Steelers, spent Wednesday "continuing to work on the side," per the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I'm progressing well, no setbacks or anything that's made the process slow down," Eifert noted of his efforts to bounce back from an ankle injury. "I've been moving forward and each and every week it seems to be feeling better and better and getting stronger."

Analysis:

At this stage, Eifert acknowledges that he's going "about half speed," so a return to game action for the tight end isn't imminent. In the meantime, C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Kroft will head the team's TE corps.
