Antonio Brown says Josh Norman wanted to play him 1-on-1

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown submitted a dominant performance Monday night against the Washington Redskins, primarily matched up against cornerback Bashaud Breeland. After scoring two touchdowns, Brown said that Redskins All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman wanted to play him one-on-one.

"I'm sure he wanted to play me, but I don't know if it was his coach's scheme or what they thought," Brown said postgame. "I know he wanted to play against me one-on-one the whole game if it was up to him."

It should be noted that Norman seldom leaves his side of the field as a zone cornerback, but many expected him to exclusively square off against Brown.

Brown finished with eight catches for 126 yards, roasting Breeland for the majority of the contest.

"I love one-on-one," Brown said. "It's you versus a man. I'd rather have it no other way than me versus another guy."
