Rams' Todd Gurley: Frustrated in Week 1

Gurley finished with 17 carries for 47 rushing yards and caught one pass (on three targets) for a five-yard loss in Monday night's 28-0 defeat to the 49ers.

Analysis:

Gurley's poor performance was directly linked to the fact that quarterback Case Keenum couldn't keep the 49ers' defense honest by producing anything through the air, which allowed San Francisco to load up against Gurley and the run. Despite his 18 total touches, even Gurley couldn't find much daylight, as his long gain of the game was just 10 yards. Admittedly, Los Angeles' Week 2 matchup against an accomplished Seahawks defense doesn't appear any more favorable, but Gurley and company should at least be plenty motivated to improve on their unflattering outing Monday.
