Norman: Brown, Steelers gave Redskins 'old-fashioned butt-whooping'

Josh Norman will likely try to erase his Washington Redskins debut from memory as soon as possible.

Norman and the Redskins were routed 38-16 by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. The game was billed as a contest between Steelers superstar Antonio Brown and Norman, but Bashaud Breeland primarily shadowed the All-Pro wide receiver to little avail. Brown caught eight passes for 126 yards and a touchdown and the result was never in doubt.

After the game, Norman spoke about how he trusted in his team's game plan, but admitted Brown and company got the best of him and the Redskins' secondary.

"They had an excellent game plan. They executed it flawlessly. They just took us behind the wood shed today," Norman told reporters postgame. "They gave us a good, old-fashioned, butt-whooping. That's what it was. Can't take anything away from that. Take your hats off to them and come back and get ready for next week against the Dallas Cowboys."

Breeland also conceded defeat to Brown postgame.

"You got this one, the next one is mine," Breeland said. The Redskins and Steelers aren't scheduled to play again this season, unless both teams qualify for the Super Bowl.
