Broncos' Emmanuel Sanders: Agrees to three-year extension

Sanders and the Broncos have reached agreement on a three-year, $33 million extension, NFL Network's James Palmer reports.

Analysis:

Sanders still has a year remaining on the three-year, $15 million contract that brought him to Denver in 2014. He's vastly outperformed his salary through two seasons, producing 1,404 and 1,135 receiving yards. While not as physically freakish as teammate Demaryius Thomas, the 29-year-old Sanders has arguably been more reliable, rarely plagued by drops or poor route-running. Both wideouts may be stuck with lousy quarterback play for a second straight year, starting with Thursday's regular-season opener against the Panthers. While obviously not lacking in defensive talent, Carolina does have major question marks in the secondary, following the offseason departure of CB Josh Norman.
