Broncos lock up Sanders for 3 more years
The Denver Broncos signed wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to a three-year contract extension Wednesday, the team announced.
The deal is worth $33 million with $27 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports.
Sanders has been angling for an extension all offseason with talks stalling when the team was reportedly uncomfortable with giving the veteran receiver more than $10 million a season.
Specifics of the contract are not yet reported, but the deal will put Sanders into the top-15 highest-paid receivers in the league in terms of average annual salary.
Coming off back-to-back 1,100-plus yard seasons, Sanders has been one of the league's most dominant No. 2 receivers behind Demaryius Thomas since coming to Denver in 2014.
The 29-year-old has also caught 15 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
