Cowboys' Tony Romo: Timetable pushed back
Romo (back) is expected to miss 8-to-10 weeks as opposed to the originally projected 6-to-10 weeks, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram reports.
Analysis:
The alteration of Romo's timeline makes it more likely that he ends up on IR/designated to return to begin the season. The reason for the change is that the fracture in his vertebrae must completely heal before he can play again, as opposed to him being able to play through it as he did with his back injury in 2014. If placed on IR, he'll miss at least half the season, which means that rookie quarterback Dak Prescott will see even more time than already projected.
