Cardinals' Tyrann Mathieu: Given clearance to play

Mathieu (knee) has received clearance to play, but the defensive back is unlikely to take the field for Thursday's preseason game versus the Broncos, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.

Analysis:

Finally in the latter stages of his recovery from a torn ACL, Mathieu requires practice reps to get up to speed, but head coach Bruce Arians nonetheless expects him to be out there for the Cardinals' Week 1 contest against the Patriots.
