The Denver Broncos have released punter Britton Colquitt as they trim down their roster to 75 players, Mike Klis of 9News reports.
Colquitt turned down a three-year extension that contained no guaranteed money and with an average salary among the lowest paid punters in the league, added Klis.
The Broncos were reportedly shopping the eight-year veteran.
Colquitt took a pay cut last season from $3 million to $1.6 million, and was open to a $1 million pay cut from his $3.25 million 2016 salary, notes Klis.
However, this was presumably not enough of a reduction for the Broncos.
