Trevor Siemian was named the Denver Broncos starting quarterback Monday, and later received a vote of confidence from standout wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

Coming off two consecutive 1,100-yard-plus seasons, Sanders stated it's imperative the duo continues to build a rapport ahead of the Sept. 8 season opener against the Carolina Panthers.

During a press conference Monday, Sanders even compared Siemian to two-time MVP Aaron Rodgers.

"He's very poised, even when he comes into the huddle he's always the same guy," Sanders said. "I remember when he first came in, I said 'man, you remind me a lot of Aaron Rodgers' in the way he goes about his business, always having fun, even in the way he slings the football. He's kinda that backyard football kind of guy, but yet he's still loose. I know everyone in the huddle enjoys when he comes off in there, he's always cool, calm and collected."

Sanders later proved to be less effusive, however.

"I don't care what kind of quarterback is there as long as they throw a catchable pass so I can get my rocks off," Sanders joked.
