Ravens' Shareece Wright: Starts across from Jimmy Smith

Wright and Jimmy Smith played deep into the second quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the Lions, the Ravens' official website reports.

Analysis:

Released by the 49ers early last season, Wright signed with Baltimore and made six starts in 11 games. He then signed a three-year contract in the offseason, wisely choosing to stick with an organization that seems to constantly have issues at cornerback. The 29-year-old Wright is seemingly locked in as the starter across from Jimmy Smith, who has never been much of an IDP asset. Wright has just one interception in 55 career games, with a career-high mark of 60 tackles (over 14 games in 2014).
