Ravens' Lardarius Webb: Held out with minor injury

Webb, the projected starter at free safety, was held out of Saturday's preseason game against the Lions due to an undisclosed minor injury, The Baltimore Sun reports.

Analysis:

A cornerback for the entirety of his career, the 30-year-old Webb is moving to safety after watching his man-coverage skills erode the past couple seasons. He could become a valuable asset in position-specific IDP leagues that still list him as a cornerback, but Eric Weddle is the better bet to pile up tackles among Baltimore's starting safety duo. If Webb's injury were to threaten his Week 1 availability, Terrence Brooks or Kendrick Lewis (undisclosed) would likely get the start.
