Ravens' Javorius Allen: Works behind West

Allen gained 15 yards on eight carries and 17 yards on four receptions (four targets) in Saturday's preseason game against the Lions.

Analysis:

Allen was the fourth Baltimore running back to enter the game, behind Justin Forsett, Kenneth Dixon (knee) and Terrance West. While the playing time allotment didn't bode well for Allen's Week 1 role, his competition may have thinned out a bit Saturday, as Dixon left the game with a knee injury that required him to be carried off the field. Although West seems to have moved ahead of Allen in the pecking order for carries, Dixon's potential absence could help Allen secure a role in the passing game.
