49ers' Anthony Davis: Will switch to guard

Davis will switch from tackle to guard, CSN Bay Area reports.

Analysis:

Before his brief retirement during the 2015 season, Davis was considered an above-average right tackle. With Trenton Brown holding his own at that position, Davis will make the move from right tackle to right guard this season in an effort to earn a starting job. It is generally believed that tackle is a harder position to play than guard, so he shouldn't have too much difficulty making the switch. Davis will play with the first unit this Friday against Green Bay.
