Aguayo booed after missing more kicks at Bucs practice

The start of Roberto Aguayo's NFL career has been among the roughest in recent memory - and it's still the preseason.

After admitting to meeting with a mental coach to help him with his kicking troubles on Monday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers second-round pick had an ugly day at practice Tuesday.

In a joint session with the Cleveland Browns, Aguayo missed three of his six attempts and the fans in attendance voiced their displeasure, showering him with boos.

"He's struggling," coach Dirk Koetter told reporters after practice. "He's struggling a little bit right now. He's gotta work his way through it."

Aguayo missed one kick from 35 yards and two from 45, adding to his pair of missed preseason kicks and an embarrassing extra-point flub.

The Bucs traded their third- and fourth-round picks to move back into the second round to draft Aguayo in April. Koetter says bringing in a veteran kicker is an option the team could look at, but they are still holding out hope Aguayo will figure things out and they feel the issues are mental.

"I think so and I think he believes that," Koetter said when asked if he believes Aguayo's struggles are mental. "We've talked to him. He knows what he has to do. He's working through it."
