Browns' Josh Gordon: Works with starting offense

Gordon (quad/suspension) worked with the Browns' first-team offense during portions of Sunday's practice session, ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Gordon remains suspended for Cleveland's first four games of this season, but coach Hue Jackson wants to ensure he's ready to roll with the starters once available. Since Gordon won't be able to practice during his suspension, his involvement with the first-team offense ahead of Week 1 is one way Jackson intends to prepare him for his eventual return. Although a quadriceps injury has hindered Gordon somewhat lately, Jackson still hopes he'll be healthy enough to play in Thursday's exhibition contest against the Buccaneers, which would provide a first opportunity to work with quarterback Robert Griffin in a live game situation since the two were teammates at Baylor.
