Patriots' Julian Edelman: Likely to sit Thursday

Edelman (foot) is not expected to see action in Thursday night's preseason game against the Bears, NFL.com reports.

Analysis:

Edelman, who suffered a minor foot issue in practice last Tuesday, did not play in the Patriots' preseason opener this past Thursday. He's been practicing since then -- and has looked sharp in doing so -- with his anticipated inactivity in the team's second preseason tilt merely a precaution.
