Harrison open to PED interview: 'Come to my house. Bring Roger Goodell'

James Harrison has no problem being interviewed by the NFL.

The league imposed a deadline for the veteran Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker to speak with the NFL about allegations that he and three other players took performance-enhancing drugs. The accusations come from an Al Jazeera America report published late last season. If the players aren't interviewed by Aug. 25, they face suspension.

"I don't have a problem doing the interview. Come to my house. Bring Roger (Goodell) with you," Harrison said when broached on the subject Tuesday after practice, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Harrison is wary of setting a precedent that allows the NFL to threaten a player with suspension any time an accusation is made, but says he'll follow the advice of the players' union.

"If that's the case, then somebody could come out and say James Harrison is a pedophile. They are going to suspend me, put me under investigation for being a pedophile just because somebody said it? I'm not going to answer questions for every little thing some Tom, Dick, and Harry comes up with," Harrison said.

He added, "I'll do what I have to do. They'll do what they have to do. We'll make that decision when that time comes ... I just am doing what I'm advised to do (by the NFLPA). It's the right thing to do."

The NFLPA hasn't commented on the deadline, which was announced Monday, but previously suggested there's insufficient evidence of the allegations because the Al Jazeera America story's key source recanted his comments.

While Harrison has been vocal on the subject, Green Bay Packers linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers and free agent Mike Neal - the other players named in the report - have yet to make statements related to being interviewed.
