Former NFL running back Best in Bolt's 100m heat at Rio 2016

Former Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best will run in the same heat as two-time defending 100m gold medalist Usain Bolt on Saturday.

The heat is scheduled for 11:36 a.m. ET.

Bolt, the world record holder in the 100m, is looking to become the first man ever to go back-to-back-to-back in the event.

Best, a former first-round pick of the Lions who played only 22 career games in the NFL and retired due to head injuries, competes for Saint Lucia in track and field.

Best's personal best in the 100m is 10.31 seconds. While that's a world-class time and perhaps faster than any current NFL player could run, Best will likely have to improve on it in a major way if he wants to leave Rio with a medal.
