Broncos' DeMarcus Ware: Ruled out of preseason opener

Ware (back) will not play in Thursday's preseason opener versus the Bears, Josina Anderson of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Ware was medically cleared from a back injury at the start of August, but the Broncos are remaining cautious with their 34-year-old linebacker and will continue to keep him sidelined. Ware missed five games during his 2015 campaign, but with extended time off throughout the offseason and into the preseason, the Broncos are hoping to have him ready for Week 1. He could return to the practice field in the next couple of weeks.
