Ravens' Dennis Pitta: Available for beginning of training camp

Pitta (hip) is not on the PUP list for the start of training camp, the Ravens' official site reports.

Analysis:

Pitta hasn't played in a game since September of 2014, when he suffered a fractured and dislocated right hip for the second time in two years. Retirement was a real possibility at one point, but Pitta reportedly looked good during the Ravens' offseason program. Now 30 years old and still carrying significant risk of re-injury, Pitta will need to compete for a role on a team that also has Ben Watson, Crockett Gillmore (shoulder/back) and Maxx Williams at tight end.
