Report: NFL gathering facts on Ezekiel Elliott domestic violence accusation

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL is gathering facts surrounding the domestic violence accusation leveled against Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott last week, ESPN's Ed Werder reports.

The fact-finding is being conducted by Lisa Friel, the league's VP for investigations and a former prosecutor. She was brought aboard by the NFL in the wake of the Ray Rice domestic violence case in 2014.

Last week, Elliott was accused of physical abuse by his rumored ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson. His father denied the accusations and Elliott appeared to refute the allegations by tweeting: "Evil never prevails."
