Ryan Fitzpatrick and the New York Jets haven't engaged in contract discussions in more than a month, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.

Speculation suggested the Jets might reach out to the disgruntled quarterback after locking up defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson on Friday, but that reportedly hasn't been the case. Wilkerson's deal freed up more than enough cap space to allow New York to get something done with Fitzpatrick.

Both sides are dug in after Fitzpatrick had a career year in 2015 in which he threw for 3,905 yards and 31 touchdowns.

The Jets have reportedly offered a three-year, $24-million contract, but Fitzpatrick is looking for more than $10 million per year. He would also accept a one-year deal worth $12 million.

The contract dispute is likely to linger into training camp, but the divide seems to be widening between the two sides that were once expected to hammer out a contract.
