Report: Panthers' Short won't skip training camp

Bob Donnan / USA TODAY Sports

Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Kawann Short skipped some of his team's offseason workouts, but won't skip training camp, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Short, who is seeking a new long-term contract, was a no-show at some voluntary OTAs this spring but reported for mandatory minicamp in June.

Short broke out with 11 sacks in 2015 and is believed to be seeking a hefty raise as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. Absent a new deal, Short will earn $1.4 million in 2016.
